Let's celebrate our planet!
Let’s work together to create a better future for our planet! Earth Day happens every year on April 22nd to teach us about environmental problems and how we can protect nature. But, we don’t have to wait for Earth Day to take action! Kids are never too young to learn how to care for our planet.

Take the 7-day zero-waste Earth Day challenge
Day 1: Get ice cream in a cone instead of a cup.
When you get your ice cream in a cone, you don’t need a spoon or a cup! You can eat the cone, and there’s no waste left behind. Easy right?
Day 2: Make it a Meatless Monday.
Meat production can be hard on the environment, and raising animals for food takes a lot of resources like water, land, and food. Have a meatless meal once or twice a week. It’s good for your health and good for the planet too!
Day 3: Pack a zero waste lunch. Go wax wrap instead of plastic wrap.
Plastic wrap creates a lot of waste that can harm the environment. Wax wrap is made of fabric coated with beeswax that keeps food fresh and can be used over and over again.
Day 4: Swap out your plastic toothbrush for a bamboo one.
Plastic toothbrushes take a very long time to break down and can end up in our oceans, harming sea life. Bamboo is a fast-growing, renewable resource that is biodegradable and won’t harm the environment.
Day 5: Upcycle – give new purpose to an object you no longer use.
Instead of throwing things away and adding to the landfill, upcycling gives old things a new purpose and keeps them out of the trash. Like turning an old bucket into a planter or old t-shirt into a tote bag. The possibilities are endless, and it’s a fun way to get creative!
Day 6: Buy products in glass instead of plastic.
Plastic takes a long time to break down and isn’t a good environmental choice. Glass, on the other hand, can be recycled over and over again without losing its quality and can be used for storage after you’re done with the product inside!
Day 7: Refuse what is unnecessary.
Unnecessary items create more waste that can harm the environment. You can say “no thank you” to a straw at a restaurant, or choose an electronic ticket instead of a printed one. You can also try using a refillable water bottle instead of buying plastic ones, and bring your own bag to the store instead of using a single-use one.
Well done! Now simply repeat.
Every small action counts when it comes to protecting our planet. By taking part in the zero waste challenge, you’re making a difference and helping create a better future for all of us. So let’s work together to make Earth Day every day and continue making positive changes for our planet. Keep up the great work and remember, every little bit helps!
